More Visitors Pa, Click Pa, Click Pa

I counted the pictures that I uploaded/took for the bike rides that we had. They were more than 300 that I used’ ; I reached the limit for my flick.r account.

I put in a lot of free time and labor making this a nice blog and am happy that in bikershare, we have a lot of pictures and articles picked up by google pages and google images. It gives me a lot of pride and inspiration seeing these results.

However, the visits to the sites by recyclist members are few and far in between. I hope they will be inspired by this labor of love from bikershare. We need more visits, moreeee clicks pa.

Having multiple flats – the worst nightmare in a ride

I remember experiencing multiple flats 4 times: l after trip to Manga (is was unable to remove the glass splinter in the exterior), l after a Bugarin ride (4x), l after a Jalajala ride (alone and I missed my lunch) and lately at the the latest Atimonan ride (3x – caused by a broken sidewall).
It is indeed a very frustrating experience and you may decide on any of the following things: quit biking all together; curse and blame any third party you can thinks of, or borrow somebody else’s pump or interior, ask for help, or go to the nearest vulcanizing shop. Or better, hail a tricycle or an fx. or go home.

To avoid such:

l. Buy the best exterior and interior money can buy.

2. Check your bike for nails, glass, small pieces or gravel always, or before the ride.

3. Avoid the side of the road; there are more broken glasses there.

4. Inflate with a foot pump rather than a hand pump. You can twist the presta valve of the
interior that can cause the separation of the valve from the interior.

5. Be sure you have at least one brand new interior plus a repair kit with new glue.

6. Have extra money for the vulcanizing shop.

Seniority

Today, I turn 60 year old.  For most it is time to retire and start planning for your departure.  But yesterday, in the ride to Los Banos, I stayed at the paceline (running from 35 to 40 kph)  from Morong to Pilillla, from Pila to Victoria.  Although I could not hang on long at the paceline, I have proven that I can still get stronger and be better at my age.
